Epic Games has added yet another exciting game mode to its growing LEGO Fortnite series. LEGO Fortnite Expeditions, released on June 18, 2025, brings a new co-op twist to the experience, focusing on structured missions, Hero classes, and team-based objectives.

An Adventure Starts at Supernova Academy

Unlike Odyssey’s survival mechanics or Brick Life’s social sandbox, Expeditions is about teamwork and combat. Players start at Supernova Academy, where they select one of three Hero classes: Shadow Caller, Rift Ripper, or The Hunter. Each class features different combat powers, which can be upgraded as players earn XP and progress through missions.



You’ll also get to choose a starting weapon — either Dual Daggers or a War Hammer — and can collect more gear along the way, including the Plasma Pistol. Players can gather Essence throughout missions to spend on better versions of these weapons at the Academy’s vendor.

Missions, Objectives & Exploration

Each session teams you up with three others and sends you to detailed environments like Utopia City or Busted Bridge. Missions range from defending key areas to escorting NPCs or wiping out enemies. Players are also encouraged to explore, gather resources, and uncover hidden chests.



Optional quests provided by LEGO-styled characters like Hope and Morgan Myst add a fun layer to gameplay. Completing these quests unlocks extra XP and decorative bundles usable in other LEGO modes.

Early reactions to Expeditions are mixed. While it currently sits at around 8,000 concurrent players — a respectable number for a new mode — it trails behind Odyssey’s 23,000 but outperforms Brick Life’s 3,800.



Some fans have praised the mode’s variety and class system. Others feel that mission clarity is lacking, with players unsure of what to do during objectives.
