Is it normal to replace a battery every year here or am I just unlucky? (7 อ่าน)

I need some honest opinions from people who have been driving in Dubai longer than me. I moved here about three years ago from a much cooler country and I feel like I'm replacing my car battery constantly. My first battery lasted about fourteen months. The second one made it to thirteen months. Now my third one is starting to show signs of weakness after only eleven months. I'm starting to think maybe the problem isn't the batteries themselves but something I'm doing wrong without realizing it. I don't leave lights on or anything obvious like that. But I do park outside because my building doesn't have shaded parking. And I mostly drive short distances, maybe ten to fifteen minutes at a time. Someone at work told me that combination is basically a death sentence for batteries over here. He shared a link with me that had some really clear explanations and tips, https://khaleejtip.com/prolong-car-battery-life-uae , and honestly I felt a bit relieved because I finally understood why this keeps happening to me. Apparently the heat causes the liquid inside to evaporate faster and short trips never give the alternator enough time to fully recharge what the starter motor uses. That makes so much sense now. But here's my actual question. If I start changing my habits, like taking a longer drive on the weekends and parking in a shaded spot whenever possible, how much extra time can I realistically expect to get from a battery? Has anyone here gone from replacing every year to getting two years or more just by changing a few small things? I don't want to buy a new battery every twelve months for the rest of my life.
