I'm at a point where I don't know who to believe anymore when it comes to online reviews. Last year I chose a garage based on Google reviews that looked great, lots of five stars and nice comments. But when I actually went there, they were disorganized, overcharged me, and the problem came back after two weeks. When I tried to leave an honest review about my experience, they somehow got it removed. It made me realize that a lot of what we see online might not be real. A colleague suggested that instead of just trusting Google, I should explore 800Sayara listing online on a proper business directory where the information is more verified and harder to fake. I never thought about that before. I guess my question for everyone here is, how do you actually tell the difference between real customer feedback and fake reviews? Are business directories really more trustworthy than Google or is it all the same? I drive a 2016 Volkswagen Passat and I really need to find a good mechanic for an upcoming major service, but I'm honestly feeling so cynical about online information that I don't know where to start. If you've found a method that works for filtering out the fake stuff and finding real honest feedback about garages, please share it with me. I'm tired of feeling like every review I read could be fake and every garage might be trying to take advantage of me. There has to be a better way.
